Quick Tips for Getting a Good Internship

Utilize your university's career office—the majority of MPSN alums secured their internships through the resources available at their schools.

Apply directly to offices and organizations.  The internet is an invaluable tool to research offices and organizations, so utilize it!  Helpful links are included in the following section.

Apply to your representative or senator when applying for positions on Capitol Hill.  Another option is to apply to the issue committee that you have a specific interest in.

Apply early—the most prestigious and/or competitive internships (ie. government offices or large think tanks) have deadlines as early as the fall for summer internships.

MPSN alumni are available to assist applicants with leads to appropriate internships and advise on the application process.

Please note: Internships with foreign embassies, Muslim organizations, or ethnic organizations with predominantly Muslim populations are excluded from participation in MPSN.
